Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)

A mental health care plan is a document created by you and your doctor to guide the treatment of a mental health condition. It can be helpful whether you’re dealing with mild concerns, a more serious condition, short-term issues, or a long-standing illness. You don’t need an existing diagnosis to discuss a mental health care plan with your doctor—anyone can start the conversation, no matter what they’re facing.

With a mental health care plan, you’re eligible for a Medicare rebate of $96.65 on up to 10 individual or group sessions each calendar year with a psychologist, psychiatrist, social worker, or occupational therapist. After the first 6 sessions, you’ll check in with your doctor to review your progress and, if necessary, receive a referral for the remaining 4 sessions. You must bring or submit your referral at your first appointment in order for the rebate to be processed.

In 2024, the Australian Psychological Society’s (APS) recommended rate is $300 per session. At the Flourishing Mind Collective, we’re committed to making quality healthcare accessible, and this is reflected in our more affordable pricing.

Cancellation Policy

We kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel your appointment. Cancellations made within 24 hours will incur the full session fee, as it can be challenging to reallocate appointments on short notice. This policy helps us offer available times to other clients who may be waiting for support.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
